Slept on the sofa bed in the living room last night, and slept just fine. After breakfast we walked one of the Pacific Rim Trails which was beautiful. The first part was through the forest and then second part of the loop was along the Pacific both were beautiful in their own way. The forest was very thick and mysterious, almost prehistoric looking, while the Pacific Ocean was awesome as always. The views from the trail looking out over the ocean were amazing, yet also quite tragic since we looked over an area know as the Graveyard of the Pacific where a large number of ships have been lost due to the rocky coastline.
One the way back from breakfast we saw some deer along the side of the road having their own breakfast, and they were still hanging out when we got back from our walk like they didn’t have a care in the world.
Went for a drive this afternoon, originally to go to the beach but since it was in a national park we would have had to pay $48.00 for the privilege of walking on it so we drove on to Tofino to check out the town. It might have been a nice little place but it was too cold and too windy to walk around. We had thought about going bear watching but after seeing the boats going out and the way they were dancing on the choppy waves I am so glad we didn’t get to go; it would not have been a fun trip for those of us who suffer with seasickness.
Jaime, Lec, Mike and I all got in the hot tub tonight. It was fairly cold evening but toasty in the tub. It was nice just to sit and chat and watch the stellar jays hopping around the trees just beyond the balcony.

Mike: I wanted to see a bear, they're all wooses!
