Well I had to do some laundry today, a lot of it so we decided to go to a laundromat rather than do it at the campground. Mike looked them up online and found one in a place called ‘The Villages’. We put the address into Nell and set out to find it. I really wish we hadn’t bothered, as we ended parked outside someones house with no laundry in sight and to make matters worse ‘The Villages’ is the town from hell. It’s a planned community built on a number of golf courses and it seems that all the people that live there are 70 or older; it’s kind of like Stepford Wives but with OAP’s. All the houses look the same and the whole place was like a maze – thank God for Nell. We actually had to go into one of the estates to get to the non-existent laundry and there were roundabouts and guardhouses and barriers everywhere. To top it all off, all the people use golf carts to get around on; they were zipping all over the place like they were on a frigging fairground ride. It was quite a relief when we got back on the main road and I ended up doing my washing at the campground after all.

Mike: I've never been to a place with more golf carts than cars! They need to lock these people up!
