Mike spent some time this morning trying to book some more places for us to stay but the phone number he’s been trying to call now for two days is still busy. After he had spent a couple of hours online we decided to drive towards the coast and visit Lake Michigan. We stopped off in New Era at a dairy farm but there wasn’t much there to do or eat except cows, so we drove a little further into Ludington. It was a really nice place and very well maintained. I got to dip my toes in Lake Michigan; the water was almost as warm as the sand on the beach. It actually seemed more like the ocean than a lake as it stretched as far as the eye could see with no other shores in sight. The beach was great, nice sand and very clean, the only trouble being that no dogs are allowed on the beach and since it was way too hot to leave Tal-y in the car we couldn’t stay for very long. While we were driving mike managed to finally get a hold of the park booking people and booked the site he’d been wanting too. This evening he headed to the lodge again to use their mega slow internet and we are now booked with places to stay up until the time ma and pa arrive.

Mike: I look forward to the day that the entire world is one big wi-fi hot spot. They’ll probably discover it fry’s our brains.
