Tal-y made a new friend this morning, a ginger cat called Douglas who was about as big as her. She wanted so badly to play with him, but when she started barking at him he started hissing at her and that was the end of that. I’m gonna have to explain to her about the cat/dog relationship.
Well it’s been four whole months since we left San Diego and according to Nell we have traveled somewhere in the region of 13,500 miles. We are still having a great time and we are still talking to each other; being in a confined space with Mike 24/7 is not so bad after all. I think I’m still getting used to having nothing that I have to do but I feel less guilty about spending the day just reading or doing whatever now than I did a few months ago. I think Mike is totally into the swing of being retired, in fact I think he was about 4 months ago; he likes sitting around and watching the birds, especially now he's teaching Tal-y how to do it too.
We’ve seen some really cool things so far, and some not so cool things. But this country is so massive it’s daunting, we could spend the next ten years driving around and still not get to experience everything it has to offer. I guess we’ll just have to do the best we can with the time we have.
We are leaving Ohio tomorrow and heading into New York. I think Ohio is by far my favourite state that we have spent any time in so far. It’s a beautiful place with some really lovely people.

Mike: I like Ohio and retirement!
