Oh my golly gosh the weather is awful. It was raining when we woke up this morning and it just got worse from there. I managed to take Tal-y for a walk but we both got absolutely soaked; I think she needs a raincoat. Then Mike decided we needed to go to Walmart to do some shopping, what a crazy idea. The store was about a half hour drive from the campsite but it seemed like we were driving for ever as the rain kept pounding us, it was scary. The roads were all flooding and it was difficult to see where we were going. Mike didn’t seem to be too bothered, I think he likes driving in the rain, nutter! We did our shopping, which wasn’t anything we couldn’t live without, and then stopped for tacos on the way home.
The rain did ease off some late this afternoon, and I guess the cranberry farmers wanted to take full advantage of the rain as they have flooded the bog and were out doing their thing this afternoon. They were driving some kind of machine through the bog, I think it loosens the cranberries off the plant, or something like that. It’s pretty cool, I have never seen a cranberry harvest before and had no idea of how they actually do it.
Mike: It was just sprinkling! I can’t believe how many truckloads of cranberries they get out of each bog!
