We took a drive in the other direction today, along hwy 49, to Auburn, another historic town. We didn’t spend too much time investigating the town itself, but the drive was lovely. This part of the state, gold country is very beautiful to drive through. It’s quite hilly with lots of narrow windy roads, but it’s lush and green with lots of trees. At least it is at the moment, I’m not sure how green it is after the summer and the 100+ degree weather. We are enjoying it right now though which is all that counts.
