Got hitched up, on the road, and to Florence by 10.15 this morning. The drive was lovely, really beautiful scenery, and no a hint of black smoke anywhere. We got checked in and the ranger assigned us a space, which we promptly backed in to without any yelling, crying, or fuss – it might just be the first time that’s happened with this trailer. Either I’m getting better at hand signals, or Mike is getting better at following them. Anyway, it was well before noon when everything was set up for our four night stay here so we ate and then headed into Florence to take a quick peek at the town.

We passed through here two years ago but didn’t do any sight seeing, and today we just drove through the Old Town (there was no parking to stop), and visited my favourite grocery store ever, Fred Meyer. I think we’ll be back on the weekend to check out Florence proper.
