We left Seaside early this morning after spending the last two weeks here, and headed north to Chehalis in Washington. The drive wasn’t bad, very beautiful and green with trees as far as the eye could see in every direction for almost the whole drive. The campground we are staying at for the next week is about 7 miles off the I5 and is about 5 miles south of the actual town of Chehalis. We found it without any trouble and got checked in and headed off to find the perfect space within the 300 acres that make up the park. Only some of the sites have sewer hook-ups and due to the number of trees we had to make a choice between having a sewer site and getting satellite reception – guess which won out?

We had a little more of a hard time getting in our space than last time but nothing that we couldn’t handle, particularly once the guy across the way had moved his car. Then it was just a matter of doing the same old things we do every time we get to a new place. The problems came when Mike was trying to get satellite reception; I swear we’ve spent the last four hours trying to get a signal on the stupid thing. It’s been in every place imaginable, Mike’s been on the roof at least three times, and spent ages on the phone talking to a dish rep who promised to call him back but still hasn’t. To make matters worse the people across from us who have the same dish have it pointing north instead of south and they have no trouble getting reception. He finally reset it one more time about 4 this afternoon (we got here before noon), and as if by magic we now have all our channels. It’s a good job too as I’d have been a little unhappy if I’d sacrificed sewer for nothing.

Mike: I just needed to get my ax out and chop down some trees.

View of Mount st. Helen's from the park - can you see it?
