We finally left Cloverdale today and headed north to Klamath to begin our finally stay in California for the next few months. It was a longer drive than we've been on in a while today, close to five hours all together, but it was a straight shot up the 101 along the coast and it was very picturesque.
We arrived at Klamath river RV park around 1.30 this afternoon. The park is about a mile south of the 'town' of Klamath and although it's just off the highway it seems like we are miles from anywhere as it's very quiet and quite secluded and right on the river. We got checked in and decided to take a pull-thru space overlooking the river, and after a bit of maneuvering we got into the space and settled in. The spaces here are so close together that Mike tried to get more to one side then the other to give us a little extra room, but we still don't have hardly enough space to put out our awning or sit outside. Fortunately the view is at the back of the trailer and so we we'll be sitting out there most of the time.

Packed in like sardines

After lunch we took a walk around the park to check it out, and then down to the river. We are right on the Klamath river (hence the name of the park) and the views here are fabulous what with the river, mountains, and trees everywhere. And there's lots of wildlife in this area, especially birds, this afternoon there was a flock of turkey vultures swooping around eating something dead in the water, and then this evening while we were sitting overlooking the river an otter popped his head out of the water. Unfortunately I wasn't fast enough with the camera and didn't get a picture, but I guess he was just watching us looking for him.

Mike: Beautiful spot, a little crowded!
